What to Bring to Your First MB Drift Event at Rockingham

Rockingham Ready

What to bring to your first MB Drift event.

A simple checklist for new Rockingham drivers: safety gear, tires, tools, fluids, spares, rentals, and the prep steps that make event day less stressful.

Do the boring stuff before event day.

Your first drift event is easier when you are not trying to solve tires, helmet rating, fluids, tools, and tech inspection in the paddock. Use this as a starter checklist, then check the current MB Drift event rules before you load the car.

Driftaholic focus: help drivers show up ready for Rockingham with tires, Zamp safety gear, rentals, and practical prep support.

First-event checklist

Safety gearBring an event-appropriate helmet. Driftaholic recommends Snell SA-rated motorsports helmets for drift-event use, especially SA2025 when buying new. If you are not ready to buy, ask about helmet rentals.
Rear tiresPlan tire count before the event. Many first-timers should think around 4-6 rear tires, but power, weather, alignment, and seat time can change that fast.
Wheels and lug hardwareBring wheels that fit, spare lug nuts if you have them, and a torque wrench.
FluidsBring oil, coolant/water as appropriate, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and a way to clean up spills. Check for leaks before loading.
ToolsBring jack, jack stands, torque wrench, impact or breaker bar, sockets, tire pressure gauge, zip ties, tape, basic hand tools, and a flashlight.
Car prepCheck brakes, battery hold-down, seat/harness, steering, suspension, wheel bearings, lug torque, leaks, cooling fans, and anything that could fail after repeated laps.
Driver comfortBring water, snacks, sunscreen, shade, chair, gloves, weather gear, and clothes you do not mind getting dirty.
Paperwork and event detailsConfirm registration, schedule, tech rules, driver meeting time, and any event-specific requirements before you drive to Rockingham.
