Zamp Z-20 Photochromatic Prism Shield

The Zamp Z-20 Photochromatic Prism Shield is the premium changing-light shield option for compatible Zamp helmets using the Z-20 shield system. It transitions from a clearer prism look to a darker prism tint depending on track brightness, so one shield can work for both day and night conditions.

This is different from the standard Z-20 Prism Shields. Standard prism shields are mainly color/style options. Photochromatic prism shields are for drivers who want changing-light convenience without swapping shields.

Tear-off note: Zamp does not recommend Racing Optics perimeter seal laminated tear-offs on coated shields, including Z-20 and Z-24 Prism Shields. They can react with the coating and may damage or shorten the life of the shield. Standard non-perimeter-seal tear-offs are the safer choice.

Photochromatic note: If tear-offs block UV light, the photochromatic function may not work correctly. Z-Optics tear-offs are designed not to block UV light and are recommended for photochromatic shield use.

Install note: Do not use power tools or overtighten screws when changing shields. Use hand tools, keep the white washers in place, and tighten the pivot screws only until snug.
